Welcome to Middle England Care Farm, where adventure meets education in the great outdoors! Our 64 acre farm is a vibrant hub for children with additional needs and those who thrive outside the traditional classroom setting. Our alternative provision offers bespoke and engaging outdoor learning experiences that ignite curiosity and foster a love for exploration.
Step into a world where young people can connect with nature, discover new skills and grow both personally and socially. We believe that learning should be as exciting as it is educational, and our carefully crafted programs encourage children to step outside, get their hands dirty and experience the wonders of the natural world first hand. Perfect for out of school students or those who need a circuit break from the classroom each week.
At Middle England Care Farm, we take pride in nurturing a love of learning whilst instilling an appreciation for the outdoors. Through animal care, our young adventurers can develop empathy and responsibility as they bond with our wide range of farm animals. In our horticulture sessions, they’ll plant seeds of knowledge while watching their efforts bloom into gardens full of vibrant life.
Our unique forest school-style activities inspire creativity and confidence, empowering children to navigate the landscapes around them. Whether it’s building dens, exploring the woods and lakes, or engaging in team challenges, every experience is designed to promote collaboration and self-discovery. The perfect alternative provision for out of school students and young people with SEN.

- Animal care - including husbandry, feeding, cleaning, welfare and enrichment.
- Animal handling - including alpaca and goat walking, guinea pig therapy, small animal nurturing.
- Mindful walking in the fresh air immersed in our beautiful surroundings.
- Talking in a relaxed way with staff to address every day problem solving in a none pressurised environment.
- Arts and Crafts - felting, building bird boxe
- Horticulture - growing fruit, veg and flowers, hedge building, basic carpentry skills, creating enrichment toys for the animals.
- Pond dipping and stream trapping.
- Creating hides to bird watch in. Observing wildlife through our cameras.
- Core skills to expand basic maths and science abilities. For example, weighing and measuring.
- Forest school activities in our woods.
- Campfire skills and cooking.

- Reintegrate students back into a school environment - Not all students may be aiming to 'go back to school full time'. We work with each person to help reintegrate, or develop the life skills needed for their next steps.
